Raul Ruiz Hired as Girl's Technical Director

Long Beach Soccer Club is proud to announce the hiring of Raul Ruiz as Girls Technical Director.  Raul is a local product out of Millikan High School and Long Beach City College.  He holds a USSF 'A' National Coaching License as well as a B.A. in Physical Education from Cal State Dominguez Hills.  Raul is a former professional player, having played for Victoria FC, Autlan, Bachilleres FC, and Atlas FC reserves, all from various division in Professional soccer in his native Mexico.  The Millikan standout was the Moore League Most Valuable Player in 1986, as well as First Team ALL CIF.  He continued his playing career at Long Beach City College where he was named Most Valuable Player, and then at Cal State Bakersfield before his professional soccer days.  He began his extensive coaching career as an assistant coach at Long Beach City College for coach Bill Finnerty, before taking over as head coach of Compton College, where he produced top notch talent for NCAA Division I soccer and even Major League Soccer.  He founded Revolution Futbol Club in the mid 90s, a club that turned out many successful soccer players out of the Long Beach area.  He has also worked for the Cal South Olympic Development Program, working with some of the finest soccer players in the country.  He has served as the coaching director for NHB for the past three seasons.  Raul's accomplishments include three state cups, three league cups, ten league titles, and numerous tournament championships.  We feel fortunate at LBSC to have landed not only a top notch coach, but a great person to build and direct our girls program.  GO BEACH!
