DIRECTIONS TO LONG BEACH STATE
ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Just South of Carpenter Performing Arts Center
6200 E Atherton St, Long Beach, CA 90815
****From Los Angeles or Orange County****:
• Take the San Diego Freeway (405) North or South to the Palo Verde
Avenue off-ramp.
• Go right at light (South) onto Palo Verde.
• Stay on Palo Verde for approximately 1/4 mile, turn left into
lot 12 adjacent to the Carpenter Arts Center.
• George Allen Field is straight ahead next to the athletic department
offices.
****From 605 Freeway****:
• Take the 605 South to 7th Street/22 West.
• Stay on 7th street/22 West for approximately 1/2 mile, until Studebaker
Road off-ramp and head North.
• Stay on Palo Verde for approximately 1/4 mile, turn left into
lot 12 adjacent to the Carpenter Arts Center.
• George Allen Field is straight ahead next to the athletic department
offices.
****Parking****:
Parking for visiting teams in lots 11 and 12 in front of the George Allen
Field Soccer Complex. Visitors must purchase permits from the yellow boxes
in the lots at a cost of $3.25. Make sure to place the permits on your
dashboard or you will receive a ticket.
DIRECTIONS TO OTHER FIELDS WE USE
EL DORADO PARK WEST - Field South/#3
- 2220 N. Studebaker
Take the 405 freeway to Palo Verde Avenue and exit south. At the next
street, Stearns turn left, take this to Studebaker and turn left. The
field is on the right, and should have plenty of street parking.
HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL –
1100 Iroquois Ave.
Take the 405 freeway to Palo Verde Avenue and exit south. Take Palo Verde
Avenue south past Atherton Street to the end and turn left onto Iroquois.
The school will be on your right. Field #3 is on the south side of the
school behind the buildings. Field #1 is the west side of the north field
closest to the parking lot and Field #2 is the east side of the north
field closest to the basketball courts.
HOOVER MIDDLE SCHOOL - 3501 Country
Club Drive, Lakewood.
405 Freeway to Lakewood Blvd. Exit North on Lakewood and then turn left
on Carson Street. Turn right on Clubhouse Drive. Turn right on Country
Club Drive. School is on left side, park in school parking lot or school
side of street.
HUGHES MIDDLE SCHOOL - 3846 California Ave.
405 North from the 605 and south. Take exit #29C/Orange Ave, go 0.5 mi
and turn left on E. 32nd St and then the next right on Orange Ave, go
about 1 mi and turn left on E Bixby Road, and finally a quick right on
California Ave. 3846 California Ave. 405 South from Southbay. Take exit
#29C/Orange Ave, Turn left / north on Orange Ave, go about 1 mi and turn
left on E Bixby Road, and finally a quick right on California Ave. 3846
California Ave. The field is on the south east corner of the campus by
E Bixby and Cerritos Ave. Park in school parking lot or school side of
street.
LONG BEACH STATE UNIVERSITY –
GEORGE ALLEN FIELD – 6200 Atherton
Take the 405 freeway to Palo Verde Avenue and exit south. Take Palo Verde
Avenue south turn right on Atherton Street. Turn left into parking lot
12 of the University (the first left after the fire station). The field
is just south east of the Carpenter Performing Arts Center Center. Pay
$3.25 from the parking machines to avoid citation. The field is located
beyond the tennis courts and behind the Pyramid. Please DO NOT WARM UP
OR PLAY ON THE GEORGE ALLEN FIELD.
LONG BEACH STATE UNIVERSITY –
INTRAMURAL FIELDS – just south of 1785 Palo Verde
Take the 405 freeway to Palo Verde Avenue and exit south. Take Palo Verde
Avenue south past Atherton Street. Turn right into parking lot 11 of the
University (the first right after the businesses at the corner of Palo
Verde Avenue and Atherton Street). Pay $3.25 from the parking machines
to avoid citation. The field is located beyond the tennis courts and behind
the Pyramid. Please DO NOT WARM UP OR PLAY ON THE GEORGE ALLEN FIELD.
MARINA VISTA PARK – 5400 E. Colorado.
405 Fwy to Bellflower Blvd (west of 605 Fwy) exit and go south to E Colorado
St. and turn right. (Just down the hill from PCH/Bellflower intersection)
Continue on that street for about a mile and the park is on your left.
STANFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL - 2460 N. Ocana Ave
405 Fwy to Bellflower Blvd (west of 605 Fwy) exit and go south to East
23rd St. turn east and follow that to the end turn left or right to go
around the school to the north east part of the school for our playing
field. Please park in school parking lot, or street, which happens to
be the shortest walking distance to our field.
WARDLOW PARK - 3457 Stanbridge Ave.,
405 Fwy to Bellflower Blvd (west of 605 Fwy) exit and go north to Wardlow
Ave. and turn left/west and go about a 1/4 mile and turn right on Stanbridge
Ave. The field is at the north end of the park between the baseball fields.
WILL ROGERS MIDDLE SCHOOL – 5200E. Appian
Way.
405 freeway north from Orange County. Merge onto E 7th St. toward Long
Beach. Go 2.7 miles and turn left on Santiago Ave. Go .3 miles and turn
right onto E. Colorado St. Turn left onto Nieto Ave. Turn slight left
onto E. Appian Way. Thur right onto Monrovia Ave. Park on the street around
the school. 405 freeway south from South Bay. Take the #27/Lakewood Exit
and go south for 1.5 miles. At the next roundabout take the second exit
onto E. Pacific Coast HWY south. Go to the next signal which is Ximeno
Ave. Turn right and go 0.5 mi to E Anaheim and turn left. A quick righ
on Park Avenue. Go about 1 mile and turn left on E Appian Way. The school
is about 0.5 miles down this street on the right. Park on the street in
and around the school.
WESTERLY SCHOOL OF LONG BEACH - 2950 E. 29th St,
405 Fwy to (west of 605 Fwy) exit #29A/Cherry
Ave. south/Signal Hill toward Temple Ave. - go 0.2 mi, Turn left on Temple
Ave., Immediate left on E 29th. the school is on the right about 0.2 mi.
Walk through the gate to field behind the buildings.
