Welcome Mauricio Ingrassia, LBSC Club Director!

We are pleased to announce that Mauricio Ingrassia, Head Coach of Long Beach State Women’s soccer program, has joined LBSC as the new Club Director of LBSC, effective December 1st, 2007.

The Club Director position is new to LBSC, and is the first step of the restructuring process to develop the local talent into competitive teams. The Club Director position is defined as:

The LBSC Club Director will effectively be the CEO of LBSC, in which he will provide the vision and leadership to build LBSC into the premier soccer club of Long Beach and surrounding areas. He will develop policies that are consistent with his new vision and mission. He will manage the Teams’ competitive direction and success, and will be responsible for the recruiting and hiring of Trainers and Head Coaches. He will oversee special training programs, tryouts, and cultivate local talent. He will support the Board of Directors in field relationships and acquisition.

Mauricio is uniquely qualified to take LBSC to the next level:
• He just finished his 4th season with Long Beach State, where he built the Women’s soccer program from the ground up. Long Beach State went from never having had a winning season to back to back Big West Championships.
• Prior to LBSU, he spent 9 years at Long Beach City College, where he turned the program into a powerhouse, setting the school record for wins in year 1, then going on to win 5 state titles, the most by any coach in California history. His teams finished #1 in the nation in his last 2 seasons.
• Mauricio was named Junior College National Coach of the Year, named Conference Top Coach 3 times, and California State Coach of the year 5 times.
• Mauricio’s club experience includes coaching bronze teams through premier teams, both boys and girls, at different age levels with great success.

Along with Mauricio’s proven success at recruiting and developing players and teams, and his association with CSULB, he has long held the belief that Long Beach and surrounding cities have plenty of soccer talent that he is excited to organize into a top club. He is very excited about the potential of LBSC, and will be spending the next few months getting to know our Trainers and Teams, and putting in place the high level of support needed to make our club great.
