
Brian
Irvin brings a wealth of experience to Long Beach United. His has previously
spent nine seasons as an assistant coach with the LMU men's soccer program.
In his nine seasons, Irvin helped the Lions to five straight winning seaons
and four consecutive trips to the NCAA College Cup.
Irvin was also a key part in the Lions recruiting efforts, signing some
of the best players in the school's history. Since 1998 they have had
three All-Americans (the only three in the program's history) and 34 all-conference
performers.
In addition to his extensive experience in the college ranks, Irvin has
also been very active in youth coaching. He has served as a Cal-South
ODP coach and as a Region IV ODP Staff Coach. He has also previously worked
with teams from Palos Verdes Soccer Club and South Bay Soccer Club. In
2003, Irvin received his USSF National "A" Coaching License.
Irvin is a 1997 graduate of UCLA. He was a three-year starter for UCLA
from 1994-96 and started during the Bruins' Final Four appearance in 1994.
A 1992 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif., Irvin
was inducted into the Wilson Hall of Fame following graduation. He continued
his playing career with the Bruins for four years (1992-96), and was honored
as UCLA's Most Inspirational Player following the 1994 and 1996 seasons.
In the professional ranks, Irvin played one season with the Anaheim Splash
professional indoor soccer team.
Irvin graduated from UCLA in 1997 with a bachelor of arts in Geography
and Environmental Studies. He has completed his degree requirements for
the MBA program and has earned his degree in marketing management. Irvin
currently resides in Long Beach, CA. |
